Thanks for the links,
Hey, does anyone know where we can get some textures for weapons/uniforms/anything else for the G2 male and female for poser 7?
Thanks

Cryptie March 22nd, 2008 10:59 PM

The Olympic Bridge seems to be all one piece and a very large file lol.

I'll try it.

It doesn't even have to be Trek.

A generic one would do.

Content Paradise has a generic starship bridge for $20 which you can get Trek textures for, also you could try www.trekmeshes.ch as they have an "Olympus bridge (TNG era)" in many file formats, and they're only around 1 MB each.

Yeah, that was what I meant to say. Olympus bridge. That's the one we have here in our downloads section. We also have it in 4 formats, Max, LW, .3DS and its original .COB format, though they're more than 1 MB each.

@Cryptie: Which format did you try that was all 1 piece? I know the .COB isn't (I've downloaded it for trueSpace before) but it might import into other programs that way. Did you try .3DS?

Beyond that, I know seanr has done other bridges and so have some other people for TNG-era but I have no idea if they've released them.

I recommend the LW one, then head on over to the blender site, grab blender, load the LW file, and convert it to .obj, most programs seem to have little trouble loading .obj files.

a word of warning, do not delete either the .obj or its companion .mtl file until you've saved into the native format of the app you're using.

if you need help with the conversion process, just ask.

evil_genius_180 March 23rd, 2008 11:17 AM

Either that or grab the .cob, get the free version of trueSpace (3.2,) and you'll have the original file in its original format and it won't be all in 1 piece. That way, you can also grab the Luuv plug-in for tS 3.2 and convert the whole mesh or parts of it to .obj format. If you use the .lwo format conversion, you'll be stuck with the bridge all in 1 piece again.

Re: Star Trek Models and Resources

We have plenty of uniform stuff here in the Downloads. Depends on what you're looking for, program/type wise/etc. Majority is Poser 4 stuff. No "Enterprise" unis though.

So, I was wondering: could anyone in here grab me the chairs from the Olympus model? I'm in desperate need of reference material, but SketchUp won't load the model; it's to big for it to handle. Thanks in advance :)

Re: Star Trek Models and Resources

You just need renders of them?

If possible the models themselves; I like to revolve stuff to get a better grasp at how it's made :)
