Re: 3D Programs.
Houdini? I have the learning edition and it does add a watermark. to get this removed it costs 99 dollars. It will still be a non commercial product but it is the full version. I am having a play with it but Blender is still easier for modell building. As for animation? well the jury is still out on that one.

Re: 3D Programs.
I remember trying Houdini .. crashed my PC all the time
|
Re: 3D Programs.
Well, Harry Houdini was an escape artist. :nonono: (yes, I realize that was a horrible joke)

Re: 3D Programs
I think you've forgotten Maya which is a very great program, it can be difficult to use it after 3dsMax but when you try it, you can't go back

Re: 3D Programs
Maya is very good, they use it in a lot of TV and Movies. Of course, it should be as good as Max, it's just as expensive. ;)
|
Re: 3D Programs
Yes , all the Autodesk Programs are very expensive but there are many plugins etc, to realize a 3d Project

Re: 3D Programs
is it comparable Hitfilm Ultimate with houdini or after effects?

Re: 3D Programs
G’day All,
I am most probably in the wrong place to ask this question, so if I am sorry. I am looking to make a short film about Star Trek just for fun with a few mates. But, there is always a, but I need a simple but good 3D software to make up ship and planets. As you probably have figured out never done this before. Was hopping someone could point me in the right direction please. any help would be appreciated thanks. Regards, Titch |
Re: 3D Programs
welcome,.
The best free program is Blender, which can do all of these things you need as far as I know, While I do not use it myself. Its in the Free 3D programs thread check the links in my Signature area. at on time I would have suggest TrueSpace, but that is not longer been developed. If you want to spend money you can try Lightwave, Maya or 3DSmax among others |

Thants Taranis had a look at Blender and downloadered it. Apart from its free it looks like a good starting point, been talking about doing this for a long time so now I'm in thanks again for giving me direction. Might have more question later. Auditor to be truthfully honest not sure which direction I loking to go in read a lot of 3D Magazines do admit would love to do a 3D short just don't know if it's out of my league. I'll start simple see how fast I pick it up but thanks mate. Titch |
