Very nice. Don't often this ship around and never in an action scene.

Someone's actually doing ALIENS stuff. Cool.

damn.. I'll be voting for this in the AOM lol
any chance you'll be releasing the textures? those are damn sweet.. the only reason I've not used the mesh at all.....

hey thanks!

the textures are nothing special really, just a tiled panel map and some layered procedural noise maps. magma did a retextured lightwave conversion of this mesh, and his textures look even nicer than mine. but if you'd like the panel map, just let me know.

here's a closer pic of my version:

Holy Cow! Nice to see someone actually work up this ship. Is it possible to get the model from you in Lightwave or trueSpace?

every attempt i've ever made at a conversion has ended in disaster. most of the texture effects i've done on the mesh are using max-native procedural textures, and i'm not familiar enough with other apps to suggest how to accomplish them outside max.

if you're looking for a lightwave conversion of the mesh, i'd suggest looking here: http://magmarama.darktech.org.

Great movie-like scene :)

Did you thought about adding a dropship in the background moving towards the planet? That would provide also a nice comparison of the ships' sizes.

instersted also on the maps... ;)
as said on other places, cool image.
