3 D CGI Twins in Orbit

Yes, I realize that these ships are as much twins as Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger are. But I had to call the images something.

"Twins" in Orbit is a perfect title for these pics - especially for the second. It really reminds on these guys...

regarding the second image ... just noticed the Nacelles have a joint type thing .. so are they adjustable ?? and if they are let see a pic.... or is it a Phaser array ??

like both images .... esp as I am listening to the soundtrack for Star Trek Generations .. seems appropriate

Thanks guys.

The hinge on the nacelles for the lager ship are just something I did because I thought it looked cool. I was just trying to make something in between the Enterprise and Excelsior struts. The nacelles don't move and it's not a weapon or anything (after all, these are science vessels. )

Nice renders. It looks like Paramount promos

How the vessels are classified? Genius-class and Evil-class?

Cheers
Rob

Edit: Sorry, forget the question. I see the real classificaton in the DL section. Sorry again.

Maybe not twins, but siblings?

Thanks for the responses, guys.

Here's a funny thing (and I swear I didn't know this when I made the model.) The larger ship is a Brisbane-class cruiser (named after Major General Sir. Thomas Brisbane.) Well, I'm looking into getting a new computer with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 (dual core) processor, which has a Brisbane core. Now, if that's not a sign that I should get one of those processors, I don't know what is.

They are very nice designs, the smaller one looks like a cross between an oberth class and an olympic class, very sweet.

Yeah, excellent job!

I have to say, I prefer the second pic, both for the composition and the lighting, which seems to show off the textures better.

BTW (and I used to ask this all the time), any chance of seeing a slightly larger version of that second image?
