Default Which way is up?

I've put together a sketch for a spaceship, and am undecided about which of two orientations is better looking (yeah, I know -- no up or down in space). I'd like to know what other folks think:

I definately prefer orientation B over A. It somehow looks more.. Advanced. *shrug* Just my preference.

I say "B" too. Actually, I like the aft-most cylinders in the "A" orientation, but the main hull of the ship balloons out under that disc, making the ship look a bit too "fat."

Definitely B.

"B" it is.

"A" was the original orientation -- the "Seaview" from "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea" is one of my inspirations for this one.

Here's a slightly more evolved version:

Looking good so far....

I know that you addressed this earlier, but I'll ask it anyways, if only to provoke thought: Will this vehicle travel through sea, air or space?

Right now, it could go in any medium; what you add from here on in will be the determining factors...

Keep it up!

It's a spaceship.

The rear of the thing doesn't work for me. Here's some more work on the front, though:

That's starting to look a bit more organic now.

It's a very interesting shape, that's for sure. Can't wait to see how it progresses...

Doing research, I've found way too many sub-type spacecraft out there by too many artists doing too much better a job of it than I can at this point.

So back to the drawing board, finally keeping only the ring, really. Here's a simple sketch:

Looking good. Appears like a Kata Class refit. With your abillity, will be a very detailed model, I think.

I really like version B of the first one. The only thing I'd suggest changing in it would be to turn the ring the other way so the thin part is on the bottom like in the A version, and I'd move the front disk a little bit higher up.

It's developing nicely now. For some reason I've alway sliked that forked look... hey, which is the front?

The fork is in the front.

I'm thinking that a neat effect would be that the "fork" generates the opening into hyperspace-or-whatever within the space between the two extensions, and the ship is then basically pulled into hyperspace rather than being propelled by the main engines.

Yep, somewhere around the 1960s with a little Deco-throwback thing is what I'm looking for.
