Default Horatio pics (warning, about 450K total size)

Got a lot of work done last night, enough to where I though I could post in the scenes section, although technically still a WIP. For instance, I need to work on the underside of the hull and there are still a few windows missing from Engineering and the top of the saucer. The first image shows my Last Starfighter Zurien freighter with the Horatio. I scaled it to what I thought the proper size would be based on the windows and approvximate deck height and cam to discover that the Horation really isn't that big of a ship.

Looks great! Nice detail on the hull section - your nacelles look wonderful.

Yeah, I'm a bit stumped on the size overall but have not ried putting it in a scene with anything yet.

The Last Starfighter! Cool.

Yeah, Horatio looks like a shrimp. Not just from the window spacing but also from the sort of stumpy shape. But, variety's good. Not all ships have to be behemoths.

Actually, when you consider the Nova class, small ships seem fine.

Has either of you compared it with a Connie to see how big Horatio actually is?

I have not, but that's because I don't have a Connie. Perhaps Thomas can show us the comparison?

Well - I don't remember where I got the connie but here is a comp. The mesh has some 'problems' that seem to have cropped up when I loaded it into MAX 4.2. But for this is seems okay.

Ok, looks about right. That engineering section sure doesn't have much volume.

Yeah, it almost looks like a SD (super-deformed) version of Enterprise.
