Default V is back!?

Came across this and know a few of you will be excited.

http://io9.com/5061467/v-is-back-all-hail-the-visitors

At first I thought 'huh?' because I'm not a fan of the series (even though I watched every episode ). However, with my neurons moving at the speed of light I realized I had similar and concerns when I heard BSG was coming back.

I like the new direction too - very relevant.

I don't like the new direction.

The characters are "designed" to fit into the area of "expertise" they'll be dealing with the Visitors, while in the original, you had the common person thrown into new and unusual positions for them.

I hate remakes. I really do. It means no one has the imagination to create their own work, or too big of an ego to continue someone else's work.

Yep - EXACTLY what you said.

Either producers and writers CAN'T READ or hundreds of REAL writers don't want their work f&@%'ed up by Hollywood.

Interesting, I'll at least give it a shot. As a fan of the original BSG, I was skeptical of the new series. But I have to admit I like that it's not so campy. Although a lot of times it's too serious. I watch this stuff to escape from the realities of the world for a short time, not to have them thrown at me with a futuristic bent.
