I've already posted this in Reference requests, but this might be more appropriate. Does anyone know if there is a Lightwave mesh out there of the Federation Pursuit ship from the BBC 70's show Blake's 7. I already have the Liberator, but I feel the pursuit ship would be nice as well

For the Liberator there are two sources. Both are different meshes.

http://www.axeman3d.co.uk/scifi2.htm

Both sites have some good other meshes.

There is a fairly accurate Pursuit ship in cob format (Truespace), but unfortunately the site is down for repairs at the moment. Bookmark this:
http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/kezza/index.htm
and keep looking in.

It's easy to convert cob to lwo if your program doesn't import cob as standard. Here's the ship with some quickie textures slapped on:

Thanks, I'll download that as soon as is possible. I know Blake's 7 had different marks of pursuit ship but I think the same model was used, so this is a good one.

BTW, for quickie textures, they seem very good. The Pursuit ship is a nice design.

LOL, the Pursuit Ship is a nice design for being a really cheap and basic design. The BBC effects output was a bit of a joke back then, with the department given next to no money and even less time to do things. Some of their work on Blake's Seven was miraculously good under those conditions, but most of it was inevitably dog rough.

Like the original Star Trek though, the show often made up for lack of visuals by using script and editing to build up tension.

One bizarre aspect of the design is that the wing and fin tip weapons and equipment point outwards from the centre line of the ship. This means that the ship will have to point away from a target it wants to shoot with the secondary armament, and those weapons can never be simultaneously brought to bear on one target!

The main plasma bolt launcher that takes up the conical front of the craft used to fire a sinister enough looking ball of death, but it took so long to reach the target that I could never understand why somebody didn't suggest moving out of the way. ;)

I've often fancied doing an updated version. Maybe now's the time. :)

OK, I've found an active link for the mesh:

Real name for 'Kezza' is Kerry Bates.

unfortunstly one of the Liberator links is down... :( (the axeman's)

now heres a challenge...

The Scorpio.. anyone seen a model for this little gem?

(in a side note. the only model of the Scorpio that the BBC had was destroyed in the crash scene... yup.. her back was broken with a kick to make that :( )

If the Liberator model from the other site isn't suitable, I can mail you the Axemans one if you like.

Know what else would have been cool. Remember the episode from the first season that showed the planet of origin of the Liberator, there were small fighter craft similiar in design to the Liberator.
