As you've probably noticed by now, the forums have been streamlined dramatically. This should help us organize threads better, as well as giving us a quick view of new posts.
The work isn't finished yet, but after pruning posts that were two years old - or more - and getting rid of "orphan threads" which were hanging around the database, but not attached to any forums, I realized that I'd spent well over two hours with the forums closed. :(
So for now, my work will continue a little at a time so I can leave the forums open. Watch for more changes later - I hope the new arrangement won't throw everyone off too badly.
