Well i been writing poems/short stories in my spare school time and i am wondering what people think of it
I know this one my be a bit sensitive on peoples minds

Give them Democracy and they’ll give us death (R Stevenson)

Gunships fly through the Iraqi sky
Roadside bombs blow up army convoys
Another soldier doesn’t comes back home alive

We stormed the desert to give them Democracy
We liberated Baghdad in a volley of fire
We gave them their overdue freedom
But how did they repay us?

They rocket grenade us, destroying our transports
They capture contractors and video their beheadings
They post it on the internet for all to see
They want us to withdraw and concede defeat
They say democracy is for you but not for us
Allah is right and Jesus is wrong
And the whole wide world can go to hell

Another bomb goes off today killing a US soldier
He lives behind a wife and three kids
He stormed the desert to set the Iraqis free
Now his body is coming back from overseas

Yea it's a shame that there are short sighted people. I feel even more sorry for the victims that weren't soldiers.

Even if you don't agree with the ideas, it's a good poem, and it makes an emotional impact.
