Toad Hollow Day of Thank You?????
I like 6/2. Think my boss will buy it?

dfalconet
May 31st, 2005, 11:35 AM
Sure your boss will buy it. Just tell him it is imperative you leave the office early to have Rocky Road ice cream with Bubba. National security depends on it.

How could he take the chance that you might be wrong?

Oh great, now I'll be spouting a long list of my favourite TV characters...

"I do take thee Aerin. I mean Marge! I mean Chiana! I mean Kirk! Damnit..."

Yesterday (the 30th) was the June Bank Holiday. It doesn't sound bizzarre until you realise that it largely consists of fat people wandering the streets with no shirt until they turn a nice shade of pink. And caravans. Lots and lots of caravans...

I can't think of any bizarre june days. Except maybe that one with the alcohol. Oh wait, that's every weekend...

June 1

Well, what do you know. I found a filthy fly bussing around in my kitchen this morning. I dared him to land within striking distance. He was not very cooperative, and I had to chase him around the house with a fly swatter in my hand for almost 2 hours. But finally, he did land and the Great White Hunter triumphed again. One dead filthy fly. What an exciting day this was. And how was yours?

Well, I dared myself to join up at a tanning salon near my house, in honor of Dare Day.

Worked out pretty well, too. I spend about 10 minutes every few days lying nearly-naked in a tanning bed, and I actually feel refreshed afterward. Not to mention the lovely young woman who works the front desk seemed to enjoy talking to me before I left.

All for just $35 a month... :D

Today, June First, I told a Mexican visiting my neighbor to go join the Navy :D

General Phoenix
June 1st, 2005, 06:58 PM
Not sure if that's quite what the lady had in mind, but I guess it's the thought that counts. :D

Just realized I can't celebrate "Leave the Office Early Day" - I close my store tomorrow, and I can't leave until everyone else does.

Maybe I'll just close the whole place at 7 pm instead of 10. I doubt anyone will notice...

Wow! I got out of bed this morning all prepared to celebrate Chimborazo Day. What the heck is Chimborazo Day? Does anyone out there know what it is?

I REPEAT: Does anyone out there know what it is?

I REPEAT: Does anyone out there know what it is?

Darrell Lawrence

I'm gonna have to go with Repeat Day... The cats won't let me hug them.

So what's repeating? I got a child graduating High School again :D (Daughter 4 yrs ago, son today)

General Phoenix
June 3rd, 2005, 03:50 PM
From my research (read "Google") it seems that Chimborazo is a city/province/mountain/forest preserve in Equador.

Cool, huh?

Yeah, I didn't think so either... :)

It isn't.

Kitchen Klutzes Day! Oh, goody, goody. My own special day at last!

Now is they would only make klutze days for the rest of the rooms in the house and for the yards and gardens, my life would be complete.

Oh, BTW, I missed National Hug Day. Please accept hugs all around for everybody even it they are a couple of days late. They are only a little stale, not spoiled.

In observance of Pop Goes the Weasel Day, here are the lyrics so everyone can sing along!

'Round and 'round the cobbler's bench
The monkey chased the weasel,
The monkey thought 'twas all in fun
Pop! Goes the weasel.

A penny for a spool of thread
A penny for a needle,
That's the way the money goes,
Pop! Goes the weasel.

A half a pound of tupenny rice,
A half a pound of treacle.
Mix it up and make it nice,
Pop! Goes the weasel.

Up and down the London road,
In and out of the Eagle,
That's the way the money goes,
Pop! Goes the weasel.

I've no time to plead and pine,
I've no time to wheedle,
Kiss me quick and then I'm gone
Pop! Goes the weasel.

dfalconet
June 14th, 2005, 09:01 AM
Thanks for the lyrics. I had never seen them all before and didn't know there were so many. Hmmmm, is that the voices of many 3DGers I hear all singing "Pop Goes the Weasel"? This ditty is sure to run through our minds all day now.

My son and I decided to take part in the National Hollerin’ Contest today. We went down to the highway, he on the east side and me on the west side and commenced hollerin’ at the passing motorists. There were prizes to be won in the following categories:
1. Who got the most weird looks from the passing motorists
2. Who got the most disgusted looks from the passing motorists
3. Who caused the most wrecks by the almost passing motorists
4. Who ran away the fastest when the cops showed up.

We both did pretty good but couldn’t decide on a winner ‘cause the score keepers kept getting run over by the passing motorists. And how was your day?

I'm going to celebrate go fishing day tomorrow along with World Sauntering Day, because both of those days go hand in hand. Unlike International Panic Day... How do you fish and panic at the same time???

To celebrate Garfield the cat day. Here's a website with all the comics dating back to the beginning.

dfalconet - How is your land doing? Is everything still in order?

Well, Mythos started out as a simple land and has remained that way. It is quiet and peaceful. Just the place for overworked and harrassed big city dwellers to get away from it all and lower their blood pressure.

But I have given up the peace and quiet for the summer season in exchange for the exhilaration of soaring through the peaks and canyons of Mylandia

skyhawk223
June 24th, 2005, 05:35 AM
Which sense to celebrate today? Do we have to do all, or can we pick one?

Peaks and canyons? Sounds like GP's terragen images in the WIP section.
