I don't even know what to think about this.

I know Disney is going to milk this thing for all it's worth, I just didn't know they were going to start already with multiple film story lines being done at the same time.

I'd like to see a stormtrooper movie.

I am with Chris on this...... there is a part of me (star wars fan since the start) looking forward to this,

But there is the other part.... the sceptic in me after seen so many fond Movie titles from the past remade !! (and screwed with) and not remade to the best it could be.

I will not name names, other people like them and that´s OK..

But having tons of awesome special effects and bugger all story and sometimes with leading actors that make watching drying paint look like fun....... (AND no bloody Jar Jar.. worst character ever created imo.) does not make a film great or good.

OK that over the top, but at least my acting isn't lol.

But I would like to see the Han and the Falcon in action again..... I would like to see smuggler stories... having run in with Stormtroopers and ISD...

that is the Star Wars I wanted to see for many years.

I'd like to see something from before Darth Bane created the rule of two and killed off the other Sith, back when there were legions of Sith and Jedi doing battle. Now that would be freakin' cool, IMHO. (it certainly sounds better than a Boba Fett movie)

agreed......

Boba Fett is an interesting character, but does he need a new story, we have already seen that in the prequels.... and what would they do with him.

Hold on, I had a vision ,. "Star Wars Good, Bad and the ugly" ..... Poncho included ??????

They'll probably just have him running bounties for Jabba and whatnot, but I don't know what the overall big story will be. It could take place after he has Han frozen in carbonite, but I don't know what all they'd do with that. Honestly, I don't even find him to be that interesting of a character.

Meanwhile, I love the Old Republic era, I've been playing my favorite RPG Knights of the Old Republic again lately. And, since the Republic was around roughly 25,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire, there's a lot there. They could go back to the days of Exar Kun and the original rift between the Jedi and Sith, from when the Sith Lords first left the order. They could go to the birth of the Republic and various other stories that have yet to be told in detail. The fact that they're apparently sticking to the movie era shows a lack of vision on their part, IMHO.

I think part of Boba Fett attraction is not that much is know about him..... but I think he is a limited character (other would disagree and thats just fine)

Han Solo for me is a far more interesting character but that is an old dream from 1980s after readiing the Brian Daley, books (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Han_Solo_Adventures).

I could watch a younger Han Solo if the right actor could be found to play him.... Chewie and a few more character to butt heads with.

But something Old Republic era sound just as fine and possibly better off.....

I don't know why, I just never really liked Boba Fett. He's a scumbag, for one thing. He's not a lovable scoundrel like Han and Lando are. I'm sure they'll develop the character more, but should they? Shouldn't he maybe stay a bit mysterious? Plus, what would even be an interesting story? I'm picturing something as boring and uninspired as the Bounty Hunter video game that came out after Episode 2. I would say they could go into how he earned his Mandalorian armor, but the prequel trilogy kind of killed that. I'm assuming he just waited until he got big enough and then painted Jango's armor green. (kind of gross when you think about it, but it seems likely) But, I digress. They won't even give my thoughts any consideration and they'll make the movie anyway.

I thought Boba Fett was cool in Empire, but in Jedi he was just a bafoon and died a pathetic death. Was so disappointing. As much as I had always wanted to see more Han Solo and see Boba Fett being awesome. I can get excited about any of this.

Not the New SW movies or spin offs. I hope there good. I just can't believe they will be. The last 3 movies just went so far from what I invisioned as the Star Wars history and before the original trilogy. The look and feel was so far removed from how I saw it. I don't think it will ever be what I thought or hoped it would be.

But who knows.

That boy was our last hope.

No there is another.

Maybe having brains not belonging to George Lucas involved in the development of the next Star Wars films will be a good thing. A lot of people are crapping about JJ Abrams directing, but it's not like everything George Lucas did was gold. He ticked off a lot of people with the prequels and with continuously changing the original trilogy. Him selling this stuff might actually be the best thing to happen to SW in years, or it may be a colossal foul up. Only time will tell.

Yeah I'm glad Lawrence Kasdan is slated to write one of them.

Didn't he do Empire? That's my favorite of the 6 movies made so far. :D

Lawrence Kasdan was involved with both ESB and ROTJ

I always thought the Empire was the strongest of the films, and I think that was also due to direction Irvin Kershner

Kasdan also wrote the screenplay for Radiers of the Lost Ark and The Big Chill. Which are both on my list of favorite films.

I love Raiders. Awesome flick. :D

I think Kasdan's story and Kirshner's direction are what made Empire so great. It was a very dark story and the direction fit the dark tones. Plus, the art department did an amazing job. It seemed like things were looking up and they were even on the bright, beautiful cloud city. Then Vader showed up and the whole tone changed back to dark, and the sets changed with the tone. Very well done. Plus, the story is just fantastic.
