I am making a ship with a spining section for gravity.
If i animate it how long should it take for the gravity section to make one full revolution to look correct?

Well Babylon 5 rotates 180 degrees over 1200 frames so you might want to use that.

Time to break out a physics book. http://www.3dgladiators.net/forums/ubb/ubbhtml/wink.gif Unfortunately, I don't have one handy, but I can get back to you on that. What is the radius of your rotating section?

To get 1G, you can use the following formula:

revolutions per minute = ((sqrt(9.81*radius) / radius) / (2*PI)) * 60

where the radius is in meters. So a section that had a radius of 100 meters (200 meters in diameter) would have to spin at 2.9909274985 RPM in order to produce 1G at the surface. If the radius was a kilometer, it would only have to spin at 0.9458143212 RPM.
