Tutorial Section (Handy links)

Ok to get thing going in a tutorial section .. and only for tutorial Links you know off ,, can you post them here what ever the program its concerned with.

But donĀ“t hesitate to ask for help here first if you need help or direction in a project or for your program.

If you find links that are out of date or lead to unsuitable sites. Let the Staff know ASAP and we will remove it!!

I will organise them later as it grows .

Great idea Taranis. Here are a few for you -

Poser -

Renderosity - Tutorials section, some really excellent tutorials here - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutor...&section_id=32

Smith-Micro - The company that currently owns Poser - Good tutorials - http://my.smithmicro.com/tutorials/index.html#poser

Poser, Daz Studio and others -

Daz3D - 100+ great tutorials - mostly Daz Studio but a lot apply to Poser - http://www.daz3d.com/i/tutorial/0?_m=d

That should get the ball rolling Taranis. I'll find my stash of favorites and post some more later. :)

Re: Tutorial Section (Handy links)

Nice set of links. I know Warrior wanted Mikala, Thomas P and me to do some tutorial links a long while ago but we got busy or forgot or something. So, it's nice to see that a member of the staff is finally getting it done with all these great links, both for the tutorials and the other ones you've done for 2D and 3D programs. I think we all owe Taranis a big "Thank You" for that. Thanks bro. :D

You already have been for years. Hell, if it wasn't for you, I never would've joined up and would've missed a lot of good times.

Hey, I'm not nit-picking here but I have to say this - some of the Carrara related tuts are not that good. The muzzle-flash - Jet Pack one comes quickly to mind.

There is no need to add additional lights to the scene.
You simply make sure that you know the name of the prop (i.e. MuzzleFlash-1) and then you use 'Anything Glows' and you can turn 'MuzzleFlash-1' into a light source of it's own.
The only thing it cannot do is a create a lense flare.

Also many of them appear to be geared toward 'still image rendering' ...and well.. you know...I think Carrara is a killer app for animating. ;)

Should I creat a link to how I do my explosions in Carrara?
It's pretty different from theirs.

These two images are from an animated scene.
This is test footage I shot and doesn't have the post production laser blasts and explosion sweetener added to it yet but as you can see, my explosion and the Carrara tut have very different results.

Yes, and it goes for any and all members: If YOU have tutorials, we'd love to add them to the "Databanks" :)
