NP. I was lost when looking for blueprints before someone over at SFM pointed me there a couple years ago. So, I try to pass it along to anyone who needs it.

Thinking of those of you who do still renders, I think these links might be good for 'background inspiration'.

Welcome to the site. :)

Yeah, Masao's ships are definitely a great place to start. I've done one of his Federation ships and have plans to do one of his Klingon ships.

I remember that page, it's the golden era of 3DG. It's amazing how old that is but yet it's still cool to look at. :) Have you seen any of Thomas Pemberton's latest work? He's been rebuilding some of those old ships that he did back when in Wings 3D, they look great. :D

You've kinda gotta look through and find them, he jumps around a lot from project to project. He says he has ADD and I believe him. ;)

There are a few modelers on 3DSciFi who do that. (besides you ;)) It's not a bad thing, but the problem I've always had with doing that is that I tend to not finish things, so I try to stick to one project at a time.

I come across this HQ wallpaper site... http://www.ehdwalls.com/

As far as I can see, it's probably all stuff found on the Internet over the years, so giving due credit may be an issue (unless you don't mind crediting anonymous Internet find). The collection is split into different resolutions and subjects (use drop-down box top right and you'll see what I mean).

The "Space" sections have some great shots that would work for render backgrounds - real shots (probably NASA ones), digital renders, and real-digital combos too.

Some nice work there....

you can always enter "unknown" if you use a Model or background that does not have a name attached in a readme file. anyway most artist will recognise their own work and will let you know if its their work or not.
