Happy New Year, everybody!

I've posted a special news item on the 3DG frontpage that you guys and gals might want to check out...

http://www.3dgladiators.net

I'm sure there are people I've forgotten to thank there, but rest assured, I'll get around to thanking all of you in my own way over the course of the next year. :)

Proximo January 1st, 2004 08:51 AM

Oh lord, it's the internet version of the drunken "I love you guysh!" speech. ;)

Hey that reminds me... *PM*

moovok January 1st, 2004 09:45 AM

Thanks for your kind words. I'll try my best :)

I LOVE YOU GUYS! :D

General Phoenix January 1st, 2004 12:18 PM

Yeah, I should have misspelled a few words and put a *burp* in there somewhere... :D

Chris B January 4th, 2004 02:08 PM

you have forgotten a very important part of this news-bit!

General Phoenix aka Rick aka Gold Plated Maniac - when darrell, the grandfather of the gladiators, left to concentrate on other things in his life, you, rick, have picked up a difficult task. the gladiators have shrunken to a small, yet passionated group of friends. we are perhaps like elves, fading away from middlearth, and you rick are the first among us, the keeper of our place. thank you for this, your work is much apreciated :)

Hmm well in Russia it's a tradition that on New year, the president holds a "I love you all, we're gonna build a paradise this year" speech. But except for Yeltsin, I don't think any of them were drunk... or?
well judge for yourselves:

Hangover or no hangover?

On the speech itself - So I'm brutal am I?
Et tu, brutus? well more like bruta in my case. Anyway :D  ;)

[Though, do tell me, after all those nice words, are we gonna do anything with my comment that the competitions are on too low a level to be of interest? It's not the frequency you know. It's the members.

We have maybe two dozen members who are posting regularly - that's just too little. This forum is going to die unless we kick some life into it, unless we get a LOT of members. That should be our newyear resolution if we want a future for 3D gladiators.

Any ideas, folks?

well.. Ihave to apologise for not posting much... I got an offer to work with a commerical Poser Content Site... :) yup... Geniune Kai work is going up for Sale :))

Well, I want to do whatever I can to get this place more visibility and activity. Part of that will be getting a major contest with a real, sponsored prize. I intend to have a major modelling contest starting late this month or early next month, but exactly what the contest is will depend on who I can get to sponsor it.

I'm also going to adapt the old mesh download center to match the new visual theme of the site, and start begging users to host their meshes. It looks like I'll have to do the same to fill the galleries. :)

If ANYONE has suggestions on what else I could do, please let me know - I'm good at running a forum and keeping the site updated, but my knowledge of the 3D community is pretty limited.

you're welcome buddy - oh and happy new year too ;)

moovok January 5th, 2004 03:10 PM

Well, when I speak with Trek next (he's MIA) I'll try to get the mesh of the Renegade for ya. It's all done and greatly textured my himself. You and Chris B (XmESs) will be the people who'll be able to put it on the sites.

General Phoenix January 5th, 2004 09:16 PM

Excellent - thanks. :)

Chris B January 6th, 2004 06:52 AM

with the renegade you can do however you please, it is yours :)

moovok January 6th, 2004 09:54 AM

Chris, that is how I please. I don't nobody else, except you and here who would want it. It's your work so you're the rightful owner to display it on your site, and 3DG is needing meshes, so...

Chris B January 6th, 2004 10:26 AM

As i said, mike, it is yours. I made it for you. Besides, my site is down anyways ;) I simply lack the time to keep it updated.
