Just had a look at the expanded universe timeline... they could fit episodes 7,8, and nine neatly after the fate of the Jedi series... approximately 40-50 years after episode 4. Last I heard, all the original cast was on board for the new film(s). If Disney treats Lucasfilm like they have marvel entertainment (the movie arm of Marvel Comics) and the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies, we will be well pleased as Star Wars fits right into this area of Disney's film empire. It is a franchise, and franchises are money makers.... if handled right. i.e. Star Trek 5 nearly killed Paramount's cash cow. Star wars has a had a ride at Disneyland / Disney World for years. I think we'll be happy with the result.
Just my opinion.
