Why does Lex always (in the movies) have himself surrounded by a pretty bimbo? I really don't see what she was supposed to bring to the story other than to foil Lex's plans in the end (just like Valerie Perrine did way back in the 1st Superman with Christopher Reeve). I think it cheapens Lex's character more than anything.

Possibly a control trip for Lex ... SUPERIOR to even his own cronies .
