Oh NO!
I think I have a hole in my tooth.
I'm not sure, I've never had one in my adult teeth before, but it's a little black dot and I can't scratch it off.
then again it doesn't hurt and since I've no dentist insurance,
I'm not sure whether I should go see the doc, maybe it's something else alltogether?

Odds are it's a cavity,
but as its little your safe for sometime as long as you brush extra in that area
'till ya can save up to get it fixed
(but ya don't wanna wait TOoooooooooo long )

as far as i can tell cavities don't ache initially, in fact they cannot. only when they dig down to the nerve you will feel something.
i hadn't been to a dentist in years, when i saw one earlier this year, three days and three sessions in a row and all was fixed and filled
and from now on i'm a better guy and go see him regularly - i promise!

lol @ chrissy
weird thing is
the last cavity I ever had was in moscow
back then I had cavities like every half a year
then nothing at all for 9 years
then I went back for a bit less then a year - and hopla! a cavity.
there must be something in the air - or food - over there.

all the aniseed-liquors that you like so much do contain sugar.

Use Floride Mouthwash. Floride actually helps repair teeth. Over here, they used it in the water, but discovered that too much (that's a LOT, so don't worry) can seriously harm you. Because of that, they took it out of the water. No wonder now I have 6 fillings. Now I use Floride Mouthwash, use it for at least 2-3 minutes, and so far, my visits to the Dentist have been "yep, you're fine. NEXT!"

There are only 2 countries in the EU that put fluoride in their water: Britain and Spain. THe rest have banned it because of the health problems involved, since the constant wash of fluoride has been fairly well proven to have a negative effect. Stick to the mouthwash or at the very least make sure you brush every morning and night.

Britain is no longer a country that puts fluoride in our water anymore (Dentist told me). But Fluoride Mouthwash works!

i had a small black spot on one of my teeth for quite some time, and it disappeared. i don't know if it was/is a cavity, since i haven't seen a dentist since i was a child (well except to have a broken tooth removed a couple years ago). i never had any problems with the tooth, so i didn't worry about it. it appears to be fine now.
just remember to not fall asleep with a candy bar in your mouth and you'll be ok.

hmmm you know I do that falling asleep with candy sometimes
lol
anyway
uhm
what you had is probably a decolloration... that happens to your teeth sometimes.
they sometimes go away by themselves and sometimes the dentist will offer to bleach it (if it's on your front teeth or osmething)
to add to my misfortunes, I chipped a tooth today
(yes chris it's the one I chipped last time too, now the left half is off too)
owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww it hurts
yiiiiiiiiiiikes
why do these things have to happen when you're not insured for the first time in 10 years?
I'm having a really bad tooth week here.

ack, i don't eat that stuff.
the spot i had was a small black dot down in the nooks of my tooth's crown. it was there for over a year, but it's gone now. perhaps it was just a discoloration.
my scariest tooth moment was a couple of years ago when i broke one of my wisdom teeth in half. i don't think that there is anything - ANY kind of pain - that is comparable to having an exposed tooth nerve. i had to take five vicodin ES's just to fall asleep.
sess - perhaps you should wear a mouth guard at all times. you know, like the ones boxers and football players use.

hmmm... I once had a tooth pulled without aenesthetic (and it wasn't a wiggling one, it was firmly in there, it was rotten)
anyway that was in russia.
the creeps wouldn't believe I don't react to novocaine
(and last year they wouldn't believe I don't react to novocaine again and they cut out one of my mindalins in my throat without it. I screamed and they decided to inject me with some more of it, then I almost passed out but it worked)
anyway.
I don't know but that still probably doesn't compare to exposed tooth nerves, no...
the most painful experience I've had though was probably having my big toe nail pulled
the doc didn't even bother to sedate it, he just put some cold stuff on it and let me tell you THAT DIDN"T ****ING WORK.
though I think the point of the cold stuff was stopping the blood not easing the pain.

actually i didn't find the drilling so very bad. but of course my doc was very carful, and only drilled in the tact of a walts.
quite smart indeed, because the vibration is not transmitted to the tooth so badly.
