logic also dictates that if SFM is closed, it can not be accessed, hence my question if it can be viewed here as well...

haven't been on SFM for a long time so I haven't followed events or read the latest posts...

Awww Geez!

Go to the site...see big page that say 'CLOSED'...Read his reason!

The site is there, just all roads lead to the root page that has his reason for closing. But, let me save you the time and give the 'Cliffs Notes' version.

He has gotten tired of having to run/moderate/babysit/manage a site that has been taken over by folks that cannot behave themselves. This is the big problem with most big open forum sites that get very popular. They are subject to implosion because a number of people misuse the site in one way or another. Since he could not get control of it and likely got no help from anyone, he got worn out and has given up.

go look again, its going to reopen, but with changes to the forum rules, and how mods are decided upon, now by the looks of it, the mods are going to be changing quite a bit, with a single team lasting only upto about a year, go read at scifi-meshes.com, i did a double take when i saw it, i realised it wasnt the same as before, so i re read it, yay

This is exactly why SFM IS close because of that attitude. Which leads into a flame war and so on... and sorry SFM will reopen soon. If you don’t like SFM that fine, just don’t visit it.

If they're back, doesn't that mean we lose the attracting hordes?
