Re: USS Kelvin
Man, that's awesome. I'm really loving that design. It's kinda funky looking and I usually like funky looking Trek ships. And, as Taranis said, your lighting is awesome.
In what format is the original file?

Re: USS Kelvin
Thanks Greg! Have reworked both a bit and rendered a Hi-Res Version. Original Model was made in Maya 2008.

Re: USS Kelvin
It looks like you fixed the texture on the saucer section?
For such a weird ship it looks very good in your renders.

Re: USS Kelvin
Yes, the Textures are fixed. It was a hard job to get all correct Texture-Paths and Sizes out of a Application i have never used before

Re: USS Kelvin
Well Tobias seems to be a very helpful person. He seems to answer questions about his mesh pretty quickly.
I thought the textures looked more "dense" if that describes it correctly. About twice the amount of panels showing.

Re: USS Kelvin
Those are great. I especially like the one with the phaser and explosion. Is this model available for download or something he sent you?

Thanks! Its released at SFM as a Maya-File, and my Cinema 4D-Conversion with a OBJ-File follows in the next Days.

Sweet. I guess I'll have to try and remember my password for SFM.

Re: USS Kelvin
Is anyone up to doing a .obj or poser conversion. I tried, but the textures won't match up.

Re: USS Kelvin
That's probably a mapping/material translation problem. One fix would be to re-map the parts and re-apply the textures.

Re: USS Kelvin
Unfortunately, it a bit beyond my experience level. I tried using Carrara and poser to do it, but without success.

Re: USS Kelvin
Translation errors between texture mapping/material settings in different software suites are one reason I hate converting. Another reason is mesh errors caused by the conversion. Sometimes it's easier to just build and texture a ship, IMO.
