New to this forum
Am new to this forum as of yesturday.
Here are a couple of renders I made.
Space dock + Entreprise-A, Enterprise E are by Star Lion
Workbee is based off the plans in 'Mr Scott's Guide to the Enterprise' by 'H' Gibbens
The scene is rendered in Celestia ( http://shatters.net/celestia/ ) a 3D space simulator.
Thanks
Tim

Re: New to this forum
Oh yea. In fact if you go look at the "Motherload"- http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/index.html
There are a ton of addons for Star Trek, Star Wars, B-5, 2001, and a section of misc ships. If you want to make your own addons, Celestia will only take 3ds models though. They also have their own format called .cmod. I haven't quite figured that one out yet.

Re: New to this forum
You might want to see if there is a way to increase your render quality (there should be.) Right now it looks like you're not using any anti aliasing, which is necessary for a high quality 3D render. And, if you can't increase the render quality with Celestia, you might want to switch to one of the free rendering programs that can be found on the net, ie: Yayfray, Kerkythea, or a free modeling and rendering program like Blender.

Re: New to this forum
I do agree with that. The screen caps from Celestia are not the greatest. Looking at it on-screen is a whole lot better
Plus my system is kinda old now. In fact my system can only handle 1K textures.
Thanks for the suggestions on the other programs. I will try some of those.
I'm learning all the time

Re: New to this forum
trueSpace 3.2 is still available and it is a good choice for an older system. But it's also 1997 technology, so if your computer can handle it, I'd go with something like Blender or, if you have no interest in modeling, one of those free rendering programs.

Re: New to this forum
Those are looking a lot better than the images on the first page. It looks like you found a way to smooth your renders. That damage texture you did also looks cool. That's something I've tried before with no real success.

Re: New to this forum
Looking good.
You may want to take a look at trueSpace 7.6 at www.caligari.com as they recently made it available free with lots of tutorial videos and material to learn from.
