Good start!

Are you going to do keyboard-like buttons (like Star Wars), or flat, touch-pad buttons (like Trek)?

I definitely think that more conventional buttons and switches are the way to go. I like the more utilitarian look of the panel itself, and getting too "high-tech" with the buttons would ruin that.

I'm just waiting for updates now.

Looks good so far. Going to throw any screens or dials or other types of displays in there?

Screens are cool. Looks like a plasma set.

Hmmm...

I like everything except the height of the console itself. Based on the new scene with the screens (which I think are very nice) and the size of those controls on the right side of the panel, it seems as though the console is only about two feet above the floor.

I would suggest raising it just a bit and perhaps putting a door or a chair somewhere to emphasize the scale of the room.

It looks like it'd fit perfectly into the Enterprise series (another starfleet ship, maybe). The only thing I don't like is the way those monitors are mounted. I think they'd look better if they were each mounted on an adjustable arm connecting from the center of the back of the monitor to the wall directly behind it.

Cool - the figure gives a better sense of scale.

I think you misunderstood me. I meant that each monitors arm should be connected to the wall directly behind that monitor, not behind the central monitor. That make any sense?

OK, I didn't reallize you were modeling the Enterprise torpedo room set (doesn't mention that anywhere in the thread). What you've got for the mounts for those monitors is accurate to that set, if a bit awkward looking.

sorry 'bout that seanr...forgot to mention "Enterprise Armory" at the beginning. You're right tho' about the monitors being a bit akward- I'll probably do what u recommended as soon as i feel like working on that section again. dont really know what the other sides of the room look like since I dont have any reference pics aside from the console and part of the torpedo chamber-I'll either just make it up as I go or stop being lazy and look for reference pics
