Default MMS-1 Main Mother Ship submersable

A design for illustration of a new scifi story I'm writing... rough outline only, long journey has started to complete it... flag ship of the Aquarian homeworld oceanic defense fleet, housing 5 scouts, 20 light attack and 10 medium attack min subs as well as 5 aerial fighters and 5 aerial cargo VTOLs with a crew compliment of 200 and some nasty secret heavy weaponry to be disclosed later... docking bay in the rear, launch hatches will be on the sides for subs and top for aerial when on the surface... water turbines will be along the length of the ships ventral side...

basic shape:

Yeah, it's a nice looking design so far. I'm waiting for more detail to comment more than that.

I forget, are you still using trueSpace or did you switch to something else?

For this image I did use trueSpace... I downloaded the latest Blender with some training videos but just don't have the time or energy to start working through it. Also have 123D from Autodesk and Sketchup with a version 6 of Carrara and Vue and Bryce... all of which takes energy and time to learn, which I don't have much of this last year or so...

I was quite surprised though because I did this on my old Windows Vista Pro laptop without a single crash, which is the main reason why I didn't want to use tS since it crashed too often on my Win XP pro and Win 7 Home desktop...

Will have a look at Blender and 123D when I go on vacation sometime (haven't been since last year sometime)...

Yeah, learning is such a PITA. Especially when you've been working in a program like trueSpace for years and no other program seems to be able to compare to it. It's grueling. Lightwave is pretty cool and (I think) pretty easy to learn, but it's also expensive.

And, yes, that's amazing that you did that much without tS crashing. Especially if you're using tS7. I have a 2.50GHz dual-core, 4GB RAM, Windows 7 64-bit and a 1GB (independent memory) graphics card and tS7 still crashes on my desktop. I don't even want to try it on my laptop. (it's a "budget" laptop)

That's just it, my laptop is an old thing with low specs, so it seems trueSpace works better on old hardware, which means it's probably some kind of graphics card clash or something because it can't handle the new drivers...

It didn't work any better for me on my old AMD Athlon 64 2.40GHz single-core with 2GB RAM and Windows Vista 32-bit (or Windows XP.) In fact, it works a little better with my current desktop. Of course, you may be right about graphics cards, both use Nvidia graphics. My laptop uses ATI, maybe I should try it on here.
