Default How do I line up...

Hey guys.. How do I line up to objects poerfectly to where there is no line showing thet they are two seperate objects. I tried attack with smooth, but it still showed them in two different spots because they were not perfectly aligned.

For example, I have two tubes. I want to have them joined by the ends without showing the line between then showing that they are one object instead of two.

I'm using 3D Studio Max 4.
Thanks for you help.

Well there is a couple of ways to do it.

You can use the align tool on the top toolbar.
This will align the two pieces on the X & Y axis.
Then you just adjust one or both of them on the Z axis until they meet.
Zoom in real close on the joint to make sure they are touching.

- OR -

You can click the Move Transform button on the top toolbar.
Then right click on the Move Transform button to bring up the type in dialog box.
Copy each of the coordinates from one tube to the other.
(Copy from the first tube then select the second tube and then paste.)
Then you just adjust one or both of them on the Z axis until they meet.
Zoom in real close on the joint to make sure they are touching.

Easy eh?

Thanks seanP. I tried the top part. The 2nd part I haven't done 100% totally. But close enough. It seems I don't have the right tools to make minute movements with the mouse to move and object so that I can make FINE adjustments. When I try to align things up, I still see the line between them. I am used to copying them on the same Z axis. And I do get it aligned in that sense. But not on the other two Axis. It's frustrating. There should be a tool that you can click to align the ends of objects together.
