Wings3d was my first tentative steps into cgi ... even did one of the animations, a bird walking simple stuff. but I remember liking it at the time.
I would be interested in hearing how users find it now . it must have come along way in the 8 or so years since I used it.

i used it when I first started out... It's based on Nendo if I remember correctly. Nice easy interface... Great for beginners. Only real drawback was the poly limit...

I noticed it says it imports and exports Lightwave. Which version?

LW7 / LW8 I think were the ones around at the time.......
I think If i remember rightly I imported Dennis Bailey original Enterprise
and even fabio´s classic enterprise at the time.
anyway I know I was able to import something

Yeah, it's a good little sub-d modler, but I had to move to max so I could really start greebleing stuff a bit more easily... but then again Ozy uses Wings and he is a greeble eater too... so...

I think at least FABIOs Enterprise is 5.6.
not sure about the First refit.. that could have been 7 and up ??
