That is one very big ship!

As for the clipping, sorry, I should have been clearer. What I meant by clipping was the sound levels might be too high at a certain point. Picture a sound waveform in your head, and then chop off the peaks so that you have flat edges at loudest points on the wave form, that's the kind of thing I meant.

If you have a play with an explosion sound file in Audacity, keep amplifying it and you'll see what I mean.

I'm familiar with audio mechanics, thank you. I'm primarily a visual person, so when you said "clipping" I thought you meant that it looked like objects were passing through one another or something.

You should've put the word "audio" in there so I'd know what you meant. It doesn't happen with the original AVI I'm working with, so it's a fault of either the utility I use to convert the file to MP4, or YouTube's compression process when I upload it.

Two new vids today:

First, a special sneak peek at the film's epilogue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gEx9WCzX6Q

And second, the latest (and likely final) version of the battle sequence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ6fELgaFYQ

Let me know what you think!

You've gotta love it how, in Star Trek, (and some other time travel stuff, but especially ST) when they change history, there's always at least one person who remembers what was changed.

"If they changed history, why are we still here?"

Nice work on everything. That battle sequence is especially cool, though the epilogue is looking good also.

Nice, very very nice. Keep up the good work.

Please tell me Admiral Janeway made it to an escape pod or a shuttle. I'm one of the few it seems who love that woman, I think I would die a little on the inside if you killed her off.

@Bryguy:

Spoiler
Nope, I like and respect the character but she didn't make it...at least not in this timeline. By the end of the movie, that's going to change. That along with the epilogue preview I posted were hinting that by the movie's end, the original timeline will be restored, and it will be like Drakus never existed.

Wait, you mean there are people who don't like Janeway? C'mon, what's not to like? She's damn near weeping in one scene, hard as nails in the next. I mean, who doesn't like a bipolar captain? It added spice to the show.

Next scene is underway, I was all set to upload a snapshot, but I forgot about the issues we're having with images. Guess we'll all just have to be patient until I can make the scene and it goes up in full!

That's exactly why I love her! She was fiercely protective of her crew, compassionate yet perfectly willing to threaten a newly enountered race with "the deadliest of force" (Vidian reference). Nor did she ever let anything like the Temporal Prime Directive get in her way. She was amazing. Oh and the bun of steel that she sported for the first few years, you knew when that came unraveled that [stuff] was about to get real.

@tnpir4001
Spoiler
Could we get a scene, 12 minutes or so inserted right after it's reported that Janeway's ship has been destroyed where you pan around to the crew all over the ship weeping in anguish over her loss? Perhaps a classic "WHYYYYYYYYY" moment as someone falls to their knees? Too much? Ok fine.

Yeah, Janeway is freakin' awesome. I like her character a lot. I like the whole crew that they had (the main characters.) I think it's a great series.

Just a quick update:

I just found out that I'm going to be changing jobs (and hemispheres) in the near future, and it will have an impact on the production of Retribution. I imagine I'll still be able to work on it where I'll be, it just might slow things down a bit.

In the meantime, for obvious reasons, production is temporarily on hold while I get everything in order. More to follow!

I've been there and my brother-in-law is a civilian contractor, he goes over quite often. I take it your job is a civilian one, since you said "new job." (being in the military and then getting deployed isn't a "new job." )

@Taranis: appreciate it!

I managed to find some time and went ahead and put together Scene 50, it's in a lot rougher shape than they usually are, especially with regards to the music, but it's worth having a look anyway:

@Taranis: I agree about the BSG score (good ear to recognize it by the way), I couldn't immediately think of anything else so I figured best to put something there. Any ideas about an alternative?

Do you have the scene with out the music included.... I might have a better chance of working it out with only the engine and phaser effects

Here's the clip with SFX only for the first part, let me know if you guys come up with anything else I could use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEYCT0-Mf-E

I've settled on "Archer and Hoshi" for now from "In a Mirror Darkly" (ENT), but if you can come up with anything else I'm definitely listening.
