[Original] Hunter-class light cruiser
for the past few months, I've been working on a science-fiction story. This ship, the Hunter-class is one of them. I'd say I'm about 1/3 to 1/2 finished modeling, then maybe another couple of days texturing.
anyway, here's what i've got so far.
question, though, why can't I attach files?

Welcome, dude. I see you decided to come to the dark side. The ship looks great. I like what you did with the engines. As for why you can't attach files, you should be able to. That's weird.

Site??
I don't know why it's telling you that you may not post attachments. They've been activated for over a month now. (Though it is a recent thing, so maybe there are still bugs in the system.) I'm working on finding out the answer, but I have to wait until Warrior is online.
* edit* I was just at your site and it said it was closed for maintenance, but the forum was open. Then I cliked on that and got a "page not found" message.

no problem, it'll just take some time, cause each render's taking at least a half an hour to finish

Wow! Half an hour? The level of detail you've thrown into it must be quite staggering... either that or your render settings must be very complicated. No worries... I'm very patient... I can wait for the good stuff.

I now have an answer to why your attachments don't work, Malach. It too falls under the 5 posts rule. So, once you get your next post, the post after that should have the attachments activated.

Tell Warrior that. He thinks that just because the attachments are part of the forums, it won't have that glitch that the gallery and downloads have. Make a few more posts in the forums until you get more than 10 and hopefully that will fix it.

That's a nice looking render. I like the engines and the lighting is very nice too. I've definitely been enjoying the progression of this and your other ships for your fiction story.

Sweet! Looks like that ship is built for long voyages at impressive velocity. Any chance you could post a link to where one might be able to read the story? I hope that isn't violating any forum rules here. I'm just really curious to see how the story drives the design criteria of this star vessel... if at all.
Thanks for posting the reverse angle.
Cheers! — Möe

actually, since the story is about mankind's first voyage outside of the solar system, these ships in this story were designed around a similar concept around the ships in FireFly/Serenity.
As far as the story, I'll send ya the link in a private message
btw, a new update is here

Whoa! It looks great! You might think of some sensors and EM antennas in the front to add a little balancing detail? Great job! Inspired work!

I feel like I've seen that front end somewhere....
Looks great as usual, Malach. With that new front end and the "wings" being farther back, it looks a little like a predatory fish. And, since it's a Hunter-class, that fits.

a half-hour to render? I use Bryce, I don't understand what the problem would be.. Likes it, tried doing Firefly once...once.. the back's easy, but the front drove me nuts..

Malach uses Max. From what I've heard, Max takes exceptionally long to render and gobbles up all of your system's resources as it does so.

You must sacrifice ALL your machine's resources to the ancient Gods of the Render, to get a pic that doesn't suck. Or so I've been told. LOL That's why I use Poser 6, perversely enough. Most of the renders I do in it, don't quite use ALL my machines resources. Just 98% of them.
If anyone knows what I can use those 2% left for, let me know.
