Looks pretty complex. What is it? Freighter? Warship?

Hard to see it. I wonder if that's because there's no picture or link?

Well, it's really shaping up into something now. I think this "stream-of-consciousness" modelling is working well.
So far, my only suggestion would be to remove that flared frame around the engines - it just seems out of place there. You might also want to add some details to the sides of the "engine block" at the rear of the ship, to show some seperation between the top and bottom engines.
That said, I'm just going to sit back and watch this thing evolve.

Ok pheonix I took your advice..no flare, and I put a divit between the engines to seperate them.
The round circles your seeing is the retractable weapons. (I hope) LOL

That's ok. Not bad. Sort of mono-chromatic thought. Add some more color here and there or at least different shades of gray.

Drwho3d, don't worry - I merged your new thread into this one.
I agree that it looks a bit monochromatic right now, but the right lighting will really set it off. Can't wait to see her in a well-built scene.

Are those areas 'illuminating' the name. etc - supposed to be spot lit? If so - their edges are too sharp. Maybe bump map the hull 'windows' as well? Something about them doesn't seem quite right.
Looking good though and I like the coloring.

The only comment I'd add at this point would be to consdier a different type of communication -- straight antennae don't seem to be too good for long-range communications, simply because a ship would (most likely) not be broadcasting, but sending to a single point (a ship or base or the like).
Very nice, overall -- a nifty, unexpected design...
