2 generations of Orions
Taking a break from both Galactica and near future and redoing some old Orion models I'd made with my newly discovered way of texturing:
First, a 23rd century Wanderer-class blockade runner, interpreted from the FASA original
Next, the class' 24th century "daughter", the Vagabond-class.

Re: 2 generations of Orions
I'm connected from home with my home PC through my mobile now so I can see your image better. Looking great. I'm glad to see someone has been able to use my backgrounds.

Re: 2 generations of Orions
To be fair, only the first pic uses UAs background. The other one is a "generic" bg that came with my modeling program.

Re: 2 generations of Orions
Yeah, I like UA's background better but they're both nice pics. The second one does have a nice TNG feel to it, though, because the planet reminds me of some of the CGI planets from the show. That's one funky looking ship, though. But, since I've seen many FASA designs the last couple years, I can safely say that means you modeled it right. You definitely captured that FASA funkiness.

Re: 2 generations of Orions
Here's some more, mostly my interpretations of "FASA canon" designs, but a few originals too
1) Dwarfstar-class [UA background]
2) An Orion Battlecruiser from approx 5000 years ago, at the height of the Orion Empire (original) [UA background]
3&4) Orion freighters
5) Orion "fast attack ship"/corvette (original)

Re: 2 generations of Orions
I like the second one you did with my background. I didn't want to say anything but that one with the star and flare is my favourite.

Re: 2 generations of Orions
Thank you all!
Next up:
1) Bulldog-class "free trader"
2) Marathon-class "high priority transport"
3) Gazelle-class courier
4) Thoroughbred-class
5) Size comparison chart of my major Orion models including the canon Lightning-class [no beauty yet]
6) Something I just whipped up last night, Harrad-Sar's Orion pirate ship from the "Enterprise" episode "Bound". (canon)

Re: 2 generations of Orions
Either of those images would make great book covers.

Re: 2 generations of Orions
Very nice work on those. I have always thought we didn't see enough of the Orions.
