Thanks for posting, Thomas.

This is a circa-2255 destroyer/scout. It's about 10 years later than Consitutition, so is appropriately more advanced. I'm still working out the details, so it's not ready to be modeled for a while yet!

Feedback/suggestions welcome.

I like the Jason Colbert nacelles and they seem to work well for this design. The dual engine should have that big ole laser if at all possible

Very interesting. I like them both. Just might have to tee one up to be modelled.

Thanks again, Thomas. I screwed up the deflector on the front view of the single-nacelle ship, but you can refer to the 2-nacelle ship for the correct one. I had a bit of trouble with the deflector mount, so if anyone decides to model this he might have to be a bit creative in that area.

I haven't chosen names or registries yet but am working on the articles now so am thinking hard about them.

I am really liking these designs. What are those two "straps" for lack of a better word for that run fore to aft on the top of the saucer?

Skyhawk: Those two things that look like luggage straps (!) are probably some sort of shield generator to protect the bridge. I swiped them from TAS's USS Huron: http://www.startrekanimated.com/tas_po_huron_masao.jpg I figure that since this ship is so small this equpiment was mounted externally to avoid taking up internal space.

Scaramanga: I don't understand your question about 2 deflectors. Both versions have a single deflector mounted beneath the primary hull.

I think you may be confusing the big ole laser/phaser cannon (blue assembly) as a deflector.

Thomas is right. You seem to have confused the canon with the deflector. However, having 2 deflectors in the same direction might be sort of interesting...

Well, I'm happy to say that construction on the 2 engined version was started this weekend. The basic shapes have been modelled. Working on the part that contains the shuttlebay that straddles the back of the saucer. It looks like a _
/ \ with squared off edges instead of something with rounded edges when looking at the aft view. However, it looks rounded when when viewed from the top. Is it one or the other or both? It looks simple to model, but it has turned out to be quite complex.
I will post something shortly.

Great news! By the way, I am thinking of slightly rescaling the ship, making it about 25% larger, in part because the shuttle bay was a bit tight for standard Galileo shuttle.
The shuttle bay should be basically rectangular with rounded edges! the rounding probably increases as you go forward. I always have trouble drawing the intersection of shapes on schematics, so the top view probably isn't very accurate. I was hoping one of you 3-D modelers could help me out here!

Also, I'll be on vacation for about a week. See you guys later!

And I have trouble making the intersections in 3d Let me see what I can do. I'm not very happy with how it came out.

Thanks, Thomas.
The final schematic is pretty much the same as the previous "final" one. I just fixed the size of the bridge to be the same as that of Enterprise and increased overall size of the ship 125%.

Is the bridge the only thing that changed besides the overall size of the ship? I am almost done with her as you will be able to see in the new link I am going to post.
